Real Madrid star Gareth Bale not returning to Premier League, says his agent

Gareth Bale’s  agent insists the forward is not going to return to the Premier League this summer despite seemingly having fallen out of favour at  Real Madrid . The Welsh forward has been missing for many of Madrid’s most crucial games in what has been another season disrupted by injury and started the Champions League knockout games against Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus on the bench. Indeed in the quarter-final first leg he did not even make it onto the pitch and in total Bale has made just 21 starts for Madrid and 10 further appearances off the bench, though in those games he has scored 14 goals and provided eight assists. The former Tottenham forward was criticised by Jorge Valdano despite laying on Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Saturday, with the ex-Madrid player and director saying “nothing that Bale does is worth €100 million, and that is the figure he wears on his jersey.” READ MORE Zidane defends decision to sub Ronaldo ear

'CR7 a symbol of Real like Di Stefano'

Zinedine Zidane believes Cristiano Ronaldo will be remembered at Real Madrid in the same glowing terms as Alfredo Di Stefano.  Di Stefano was the face of Real´s domination during the 1950s and 1960s, when they won five European Cups and he scored more than 300 goals.  Ronaldo is now trying to lead another prolonged period of European success, with Real gunning for their third consecutive Champions League triumph, and fourth in five years.  They take a 3-0 lead into Wednesday´s quarterfinal second leg at home to Juventus after the Portuguese scored twice last week in Turin, a double that included a sensational bicycle kick.  Ronaldo already has 14 goals in this year´s tournament, three short of his best ever 17, which he posted when Real were crowned champions in 2014.  "I do not think of playing without Cristian, we have him and we are happy," Zidane said on Tuesday.  "There are many people who remember Di Stefano, it is normal - many people, and I am one

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola sent to the stands by referee for furious reaction to disallowed goal vs Liverpool

Pep Guardiola  was sent to the stands at half-time of  Manchester City's Champions League clash against Liverpool  for his angry protestations over a disallowed goal at the  Etihad Stadium . The City coach ran up to referee Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz just after the half-time whistle in the quarter-final second-leg clash had been blown, to make his feeling clears about Leroy Sane's 41st-minute effort being ruled out for offside. Guardiola was seen shouting angrily at the official and gesturing wildly before Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz decided to send the City boss to the stands. City, who came into the second leg clash trailing 3-0 from the first leg, had dominated the first half and took a second-minute lead through Gabriel Jesus. Raheem Sterling, who did not start the first leg at Anfield, played a major role in the opener after he forced Virgil van Dijk into conceding possession near the touchline. When is the Europa League draw? UK start time, how to follow online, TV channel, every club in the semi-finals

They won’t take anything for granted but  Arsenal  can be fairly optimistic that they will be in the hat for the Europa League semi-finals draw on Friday. A 4-1 home win against CSKA Moscow in the quarter-final first leg means it would take a remarkable performance by the Russian giants on their home ground to stop Arsene Wenger’s side reaching a first European semi-final since 2009. The Arsenal boss described the Europa League as tougher this season than it has ever been before and the semi-final draw could pit the Gunners against one of their most fearsome opponents yet, with Atletico Madrid, RB Lepzig and Lazio currently on course to join them. AS Roma 3 Barcelona 0: Barca bottle Italian job in huge Champions League shock at Stadio Olimpico

Roma  pulled off one of the all-time  Champions League  shocks as they beat  Barcelona  3-0 in Rome to reach the  Champions League semi-finals on away goals. With Barca 4-1 ahead on aggregate after a comfortable Camp Nou victory in the first leg, Roma went all-out attack from the off at  Stadio Olimpico . Roma were all over Barcelona for the first half as the Spanish giants laboured both on and off the ball, and Edin Dzeko got the ball rolling with a neat poked finish after he ghosted onto a simple high through-ball just six minutes into the tie. Patrik Schick wasted two presentable chances and Dzeko had a header saved  as Roma  went into search of a second goal before half-time, but Barca held on to a two-goal advantage over the tie heading into the interval. Mohamed Elneny's red card against Southampton overturned

The FA has overturned the red card Mohamed Elneny received in Sunday's 3-2 win against Southampton following an appeal from Arsenal. The Egypt international was shown a straight red by referee Andre Marriner for raising his hands in a confrontation with Saints defender Cedric in stoppage time at the Emirates Stadium. Southampton defender Jack Stephens was also sent off in the closing stages of the match for a clash with Jack Wilshere, who received a booking. A statement from the FA read: "Mohamed Elneny will be available for Arsenal's next three games after an Independent Regulatory Commission accepted that he was wrongly dismissed for violent conduct against Southampton on Sunday, April 8, 2018." In his post-match press conference on Sunday, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he was surprised by the decision to send off Elneny and suggested the club would appeal the decision. "I was a bit surprised Elneny was sent off," he said. "He'

Manchester City 1-2 Liverpool (1-5): Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino strike as Reds reach Champions League semis

Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino were familiar heroes as Liverpool reached the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in a decade with a 2-1 second-leg win at Manchester City that sealed a 5-1 aggregate victory.  Gabriel Jesus had stirred hopes of an improbable comeback when he struck inside two minutes but a dominant first-half display in which Bernardo Silva hit the post and Leroy Sane saw a goal wrongly disallowed failed to yield further reward. Jurgen Klopp's side, who stunned the Premier League champions-elect with a 3-0 win at a frenzied Anfield, knew an away goal would make City's task tougher still, and after Salah delivered the demoralising punch (56), Firmino added further insult (77) as the hosts ran out of steam.
