Barcelona Transfer News: Juventus Reportedly Keen on Summer Move for Andre Gomes

Juventus are keen on signing wantaway Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes this summer, per Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sam McEvoy for the MailOnline).
The Portugal international has endured a difficult time at Barca since arriving for an initial £29.3 million from Valencia in July 2016.
He has only started four matches in La Liga this season having failed to impress manager Ernesto Valverde, which has prompted reports that the 24-year-old could be set to leave the club.
Gomes has asked to leave the club, per an AS report on Friday morning (h/t Anthony Chapman for The  Sun). The news is perhaps unsurprising given Gomes has not started a competitive Barcelona fixture since January 21, a 5-0 away victory over Real Betis in La Liga.
Juventus boss Max Allegri is reportedly a "keen admirer" of Gomes and would be willing to give the midfielder a fresh start. The former Benfica player admitted his experience at the Camp Nou has been "hell" and has affected his confidence.
"I don't feel well on the field," he told Spanish magazine Panenka (h/t Chris Burton for Goal). "I am not enjoying the thing I like to do. On more than one occasion, I didn't want to leave my house. Because people look at you, having the fear of going on the street out of shame."Moving to a new country could be the perfect way to end this difficult period of Gomes' career, although Italy might not be his only option this summer. Tottenham HotspurWest Ham United and Manchester United have all reportedly been interested in the midfielder in the past.
But it is Allegri and Juve who have been most recently linked with Gomes. The Serie A leaders even considered making a move for him in the January transfer window, per Corriere dello Sport (h/t Matt Malby for the MailOnline).
A deal did not materialise, and so Juventus, who are four points clear of Napoli at the top of Serie A, may have to fend off interest from elsewhere over the summer in order to get their man.

Anthony Martial reaching a crossroads in his Manchester United career

Alexis Sanchez's arrival at Old Trafford has pushed Anthony Martial further down the Manchester United pecking order and his future is uncertain. Is it time to move on? Anthony Martial was in outstanding form when Manchester United confirmed the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January. The Frenchman had scored in consecutive Premier League games against Everton, Stoke and Burnley, delighting supporters and impressing Jose Mourinho enough to hold down his place on United's left flank. His displays presented a conundrum for Mourinho, but Sanchez had been brought in at great expense and he was not there to sit on the bench. The Chilean took up residency on the left straight away, with Martial switching to the right to make room. The message was clear: Martial had moved behind Sanchez in the pecking order before a ball had been kicked. Unable to cut inside and use his stronger foot and with his confidence seemingly dented, Martial's performances suffered....

La Liga round-up: Iago Aspas scores hat-trick as Celta Vigo thump Sevilla

Former Sevilla striker Iago Aspas scored a hat-trick as Celta Vigo recorded a thumping 4-0 victory over the Andalusian side. The hosts took the lead in the 38th minute when Sevilla defender Guilherme Arana put the ball in his own net. Sevilla, who also scored an own goal in their midweek Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, almost levelled things up three minutes before the break but Sandro Ramirez's volley was kept out by goalkeeper Sergio. Aspas made it 2-0 after 57 minutes before netting his second three minutes later. The Spain international, who played for Sevilla during the 2014/15 season on loan from Liverpool, completed his hat-trick 12 minutes before the end to wrap up a convincing win. Alaves  took a giant step towards survival with a 2-0 home victory over  Getafe  in Saturday's early kick-off. After a goalless first half, Alaves broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half when Victor Laguardia headed home. And the host...
